HARRISONBURG, Va. – Five James Madison student-athletes were named to the 2024 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Baseball teams, the organization announced Tuesday afternoon.

Wyatt Peifer represented JMU on the team.

Student-athletes are eligible for academic all-district recognition by undergraduates having at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average or graduate student-athletes having a 3.50 cumulative GPA as both an undergraduate and graduate student. Athletically, nominees must compete in 90 percent of games or start in at least 66 percent of games with pitchers needing 17 appearances or 25 innings pitched.

Graduating Rider University with a 3.57 and posting a graduate cumulative GPA of 3.5, O'Donnell earned recognition in his lone season at JMU. The outfielder was named to the Raleigh Regional All-Tournament Team, finishing the season with a .312 batting average while finishing second on the teams in homers (16) and doubles (20). He notched the 13
th 20-double season in program history, becoming the 11
th Duke to do so. He recorded 46 RBI's, 55 runs scored and 69 hits while playing in and starting 60 games.

A graduate with a degree in sport & rec management with a 3.507 cumulative GPA, Vogatsky led the team in appearances as he pitched in 27 games. He went 3-2 with a 3.49 ERA and nine saves, moving into a tie for second in single-season saves and increasing his career total to 14 to move into a tie for second as well on the career list. He held batters to a .232 batting average while striking out 48 in 49.0 innings pitched.

With a cumulative GPA of 3.616 and majoring in finance, Peifer started in all 61 games this season. He finished fourth on the team in hitting, batting .305 with 61 hits spread around 19 doubles, five homers and two triples. He scored 40 runs while knocking in 44, as he split time between third base and shortstop this season.

Kuhle has a cumulative GPA of 3.85 as a business management major, seeing action in 21 games this season with eight starts. He posted a record of 5-4 with one save while recording an ERA of 4.13 across 61.0 innings. He limited opposing hitters to just a .239 batting average while finishing second on the team in strikeouts at 67.

Earning academic all-district honors for a second consecutive season, Mozoki is media arts and design major with a cumulative GPA of 3.679. He went 5-2 with a 6.62 ERA in 20 appearances on the mound with 10 starts. He pitched 53.0 innings while striking out 45 batters.
