HARRISONBURG, Va. - The James Madison women's soccer team will welcome nine newcomers to the program for the 2017 season, as announced by Head Coach
David Lombardo on Tuesday.
Â
Eight true freshmen, covering every position on the field, will join the Dukes, in addition to Lindsay Gallagher, who has transferred from Florida to JMU, where she will be a redshirt freshman in 2017. Seven of the signees hail from Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Connecticut and Florida, with two more coming to Harrisonburg from Ontario, Canada.
Â
"This is one of the most geographically-diverse classes we've ever had," Lombardo said. "We graduated quite a few very talented seniors last year, so the expectation is that this group will need to fight hard, compete for their positions quickly and help this team regain the form that brought home the 2015 CAA Championship. I'm excited to have them join our program."
