JMU Arena to be Named Atlantic Union Bank Center

HARRISONBURG, Va. – As announced by Union Bank & Trust originally on February 1, 2019 and officially effective on May 20, 2019, following several acquisitions the company has rebranded to Atlantic Union Bank. With the rebrand and effective immediately, the official name of the new James Madison University basketball and event facility under construction will be the Atlantic Union Bank Center.
Coinciding with the rebrand, JMU Athletics has unveiled a new feature page for the Atlantic Union Bank Center. The page includes updated renderings to highlight individual spaces within the venue as well as more detailed information about opportunities to support the project and make a lasting impact on this first-class new facility.
"As our facility's name transitions to the Atlantic Union Bank Center, I wanted to emphasize to our fans that this will not impact aspects of the facility itself or our construction timeline," Director of Athletics Jeff Bourne said. "We remain extremely excited for this facility and for this partnership with Atlantic Union Bank. It is fulfilling to drive by the facility daily and see the progress as it emerges from the ground thanks to the exceptional work of our contractors. It will truly be a transformational destination for our campus and the entire community."
