RICHMOND, Va. – James Madison junior
Olivia Lehman was named the Colonial Athletic Association Diver of the Year, the league announced Wednesday afternoon.
The reigning CAA Most Outstanding Diver of the Meet etched her name into the JMU record books becoming only the second diver in program history to make it to the 2016 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. She became the first ever to win the 1-meter at the Zone A Qualifiers with a combined score of 585.60.Â
Lehman took home gold in the 1-meter and silver in the 3-meter at the 2016 CAA Championships. She was also named the conference Diver of the Week three times, including back-to-back weeks Jan. 26 and Feb. 2.
The Dayton, Ohio native won the 3-meter at the team's home meet against Liberty and the CAA Pod meet. She also recorded the highest single dive on the 1-meter with a score of 62.40 at the Nike Cup, contributing to a total of 291.10 points.
