RICHMOND, Va. – James Madison track & field started the outdoor season with two event wins at the VCU Ram Invitational at the Sports Backers Stadium on Friday afternoon.
Sophomore
Sidra Morris won the hammer throw with a personal record of 47.22 meters (154'11"), the third-best mark in JMU history. She also placed second in the shot put with a personal record throw of 13.35 meters (43'9.5").
Senior
Kennedy King won the 200-meter dash in 25.57 seconds and was joined in the top 10 by junior
Aereale Scott (sixth – 26.08), senior
Annie Johnson (seventh – 26.10) and junior
Tyrah Burrow (10th – 26.46).
Sophomore
Jantsen Wilson set a personal record in the triple jump with a mark of 11.19 meters (36'8.5"), good for fourth place. Senior
Ebony Owusu-Sampah placed third in the event with a jump of 11.24 meters (36'10.5").
JMU's podium finishes were rounded out by sophomore
Nicole Harrison's third place and personal record of 18:57.48 in the 5,000-meter run and sophomore
Elise Rasmussen's third place in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:54.78.
