JMU Welcomes Transfer Jackie Benitez

HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison women's basketball has added Jackie Benitez to the roster, transferring in from Siena.

"Jackie will be a great addition to our family and to our culture," Head Coach Sean O'Regan said. "She's a proven scorer that loves the game. I am looking forward to watching her grow with us over the next few years."

Set Pocono Mountain West scoring record at 1,979 points, including a singles-season school-record 703 points

2014 Mountain Valley Conference MVP
2014 Pocono Record Player of the Year
Led Pocono Mountain West to a second straight Mountain Valley Conference title in 2014, averaging 23.3 ppg and 9.7 rpg while leading the Panthers in steals (109) and blocked shots (74)
Averaged 26.3 points, including 70 three-pointers, 9.5 rebounds, 4.7 steals, 2.5 blocks and 2.0 assists as a senior

Due to NCAA rules, Benitez will sit out the 2017-18 season and have two years of eligibility remaining afterwards.
