RICHMOND, Va. - After closing this week's tournament with the lowest round of his James Madison career, junior
Ben Tucker has been named the Colonial Athletic Association Men's Golfer of the Week, as announced by the league on Thursday morning.
Â
Tucker tied for eighth place at the Tiger Invitational hosted by No. 9 Auburn at the par-72, 7,149-yard Grand National Lake Course in Opelika, Ala., finishing with a 4-under 212 (70-75-67) for the tournament. Tucker carded a career-low 67 in the final round and shooting 5-under for the final seven holes.
Â
The finish was Tucker's second eighth-place finish in a row, after taking the same spot at last week's Seminole Intercollegiate. The award is the third CAA weekly honor captured by the Dukes by the third different player, after senior
Matt Cowgill and junior
Shota Ozaki took home the plaudits on Oct. 4 and Oct. 25, respectively.
Â
The Dukes will be back in action in just over two weeks, when they travel to Furman University GC in Greenville, S.C. to take part in the Furman Intercollegiate on March 23-25.
