Kimberly Arehart was a three-time archery All-America and a member of the second JMU team in any sport to win a national championship. She placed second in the U.S. Intercollegiate Championships in 1990, when the JMU team won the second national women's title in school history. That year she also won the women's collegiate title at the U.S. Indoor Championships for the second straight season.
She earned All-America recognition in 1988, 1989 and 1990. She placed sixth in the U.S. Intercollegiate Championships in 1989 and was seventh in 1988. Arehart was a member of JMU's 1989 national runner-up team and the Dukes' squad that placed fourth in 1988. She also was a member of JMU's mixed team (two women, two men) that was national runner-up in 1989 and 1990 and placed third in 1988.
Arehart was the U.S. Indoor East Region champion in 1988, 1989 and 1990 and received All-East recognition in each of those seasons. She was the outdoor East Region champion in 1990 and runner-up in 1989.
She was a member of the East Team for the 1989 and 1990 U.S. Olympic Festivals, participated in the 1992 U.S. Olympic Team Trials, and was a member of the U.S. National Team in 1990. In 1990-91 Arehart participated in the resident athlete program at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.
She was selected JMU's Female Athlete of the Year in 1989-90 and was voted the archery team's most outstanding team member in 1989 and 1990.
