Horn coached the JMU archery team for 21 seasons (1972-1992) and guided the women's team to two national outdoor championships (1982, 1990) and a national indoor title (1990). Her women's team was national runner-up five times and won 11 consecutive Eastern Region championships (1980-90). The JMU mixed team was national runner-up seven times and Eastern Region champion 10 times, and her men's team was national runner-up three times and won 11 Eastern Region championships. Horn was named 1981 National Archery Association Coach of the Year and 1989 Eastern Region Coach of the Year, and her archers won All-America honors 46 times. Horn also laid the foundation for the JMU volleyball program while coaching that team from 1966 to 1974.
