A tailback, Stith was JMU's leading rusher on a 9-0-1 team in 1975 and on a 1976 team that for a week was the co-No. 1 team in the nation. He was named the the 1975 state college division player of the year by the Richmond Touchdown Club, and he was JMU's offensive most valuable player in 1975 and 1976. He had 25 career touchdowns and 152 career points and is fourth on JMU's career scoring list.
