HARRISONBURG, Va., Oct. 14, 2005 —James Madison shut out Drexel 2-0 Friday evening in Colonial Athletic Association men's soccer at the JMU Soccer Complex.
Senior Danny Sheridan (Washington, D.C./Gonzaga) scored the first goal of the game in the fourth minute of the first half. He headed the ball into the upper left corner after receiving a corner kick from junior Kurt Morisink (San Jose, Costa Rica/IMG).
Morisink added an insurance goal off a penalty kick in the 67th minute of the game. The foul resulting in the kick started with a bicycle kick pass from junior Tomiwa Ogunsola (Woodbridge, Va./C.D. Red-shirt junior goalkeeper Kevin Trapp (Charlotte, N.C./Myers Park) got the start at goalkeeper for the Dukes. He finished the game with three saves and recorded his 18th career shutout.
It was JMU's third straight win, increasing the Dukes' record to 7-3-1 overall and 3-1-0 in the CAA. Drexel's record dropped to 2-6-4 overall and 1-1-3 in the league.
JMU will face Delaware at home in a CAA game on Sunday, Oct. 16 (2 p.m.).
