HARRISONBURG, Va., February 4, 2005 – The Patriots of George Mason come to James Madison on Sunday afternoon (2 p.m.), and both teams are looking to come back from Colonial Athletic Association losses on Thursday.
JMU lost on the road to Drexel on Thursday (63-52), and George Mason's loss was at home against Delaware (68-40). Both teams are currently 4-6 in CAA play.
Sunday is also Duke Dog Reading Day at the Convocation Center.  Participants in the Duke Dog Reading Program presented by Brewster's are attending today's game as guests of JMU and Brewster's. The annual event encourages reading by area elementary school students.
Scouting George Mason
The Patriots are 8-11 overall, and have a 4-6 CAA record after a Feb. 3 home game loss vs. league-leading Delaware.
In league play George Mason has beaten William and Mary (81-69), Virginia Commonwealth (79-64), UNC Wilmington (59-53) and JMU (50-48). The Patriots' CAA losses have been on the road at Towson (72-60), Delaware (72-56), Old Dominion (68-56) and Drexel (59-55) and at home to Hofstra (77-64) and Delaware (68-40).
The Patriots have balanced scoring, with seven players averaging six or more points per game. Junior guard Jen Daniels (11.6) is the team's top scorer, followed by senior guard Lauren Hediger (9.9). Senior center Julie Flanders leads Mason in rebounding (8.6).
Mason leads the CAA in three-point accuracy (34.2%) and has three of the top seven three-point shooters in the conference in freshman guard Casey Quigley (39.2%), Daniels (37.9%) and Hediger (36.2%)
Daniels is also among the conference leaders in assists (2.5) and steals (2.0).
Head coach Debbie Taneyhill is in her eighth season at Mason. The 2001 CAA Coach of the Year had a 103-99 record entering the Delaware game.

JMU begins its longest stretch of home games of the season Sunday when the Dukes play the first of three straight home contests.Â
The Dukes took an 11-8 overall record and a 4-6 CAA record after a game at Drexel Thursday.
In conference play the Dukes have recorded victories at William and Mary (61-42) and at home against Drexel (50-48), UNCW (72-50) and Towson (69-68). JMU's losses have come at home against ODU (70-58), in double overtime at VCU (86-78), in overtime at George Mason (50-48), at Hofstra (55-54) at Delaware (66-55), and at Drexel (63-52).
