BALTIMORE, Md., June 13, 2005 -- James Madison lacrosse players Amy Altig (Millersville, Md./Archbishop Spalding), Kelly Berger (Jessup City, Md./Hammond) and Johanna Buchholz (Fairfax, Va./W.T. Woodson) have been named to the U.S. Developmental Lacrosse Team for 2005-06.
Altig was named to the team for the third consecutive year and Buchholz for the second year in a row. Altig, a goalkeeper, and Buchholz, a midfielder, completed their college eligibility in 2005.
Berger, a rising junior midfielder, recently received the Aimee Willard Award for the top collegiate player at the US Lacrosse National Tournament.Â
The Developmental Team will participate in a clinic at the 2005 IFWLA World Cup on June 25, prior to the U.S. game against Canada. Â The team will compete in exhibition games throughout 2005-06.
The trials to select the team were held June 11-12 at Loyola College in Baltimore. Â The head coach is Sue Murphy.
