HARRISONBURG, Va., June 20, 2006 - Ashley Reyher (Williamsburg, Va./Lafayette) was one of 98 athletes throughout the state honored for their achievements in academics as well as in athletic competition as the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) announced the 2005-06 Academic All-State Awards.
Reyher is a graduate student in special education with a 4.0 GPA. Her doubles team in 2005 won 11 of 13 matches as JMU compiled a an 11-2 team record, and her doubles winning percentage is JMU's individual career best as her singles mark is among JMU's top 10.
This season, Reyher won a total of 16 singles matches to finish in a tie for third on the team.
Earlier in the year, Greater Madison Incorporated named Reyher JMU's 2005-06 Female Co-Scholar Athlete of the Year. She completed her undergraduate degree in sociology and special education in three years with a 3.841 grade-point average.
