WILLIAMSBURG, Va., Feb. 12, 2007 - The JMU men's tennis team traveled to William & Mary on Sunday and were defeated 7-0.

Sophomore Brian Rubenstein (East Hampton, N.Y./East Hampton) led off singles play for the Dukes as the sixth seed and was defeated by Kavi Sud 6-2, 6-2. Freshman Mike Smith (Fairfax Station, Va./Robinson) followed suit and was unable to defeat Keziel Juneau as he fell 6-1, 6-2. Senior John Snead (Richmond, Va./J.R. Tucker) fell to Marwan Ramadan as the third seed 6-0, 6-1 giving William & Mary the clinching victory.

Junior Carlin Campbell (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) and Smith gave Juneau and Richard Wardell all they could handle in doubles competition but fell 8-7 (5).

The Dukes take to the road again on Feb. 23 when they travel to Old Dominion. The match is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
