TRAPP AND TUDDENHAM SELECTED IN MAJOR INDOOR SOCCER LEAGUE DRAFT

HARRISONBURG, Va., March 8, 2007 -- James Madison seniors Kevin Trapp (Charlotte, N.C./Myers Park) and Mike Tuddenham (Cincinnati, Ohio/Indian Hill) were drafted in the Major Indoor Soccer League 2007 Amateur Draft, which was held via conference call Thursday.

Trapp, who was a four-year starter in goal for the Dukes, was chosen by the Detroit Ignition in the third round. In 2006 he had a 1.01 goals-against average and was selected to the Charlotte JAKO Invitational all-tournament team and the VCU Classic all-tournament team. His 26 career shutouts rank second all-time at JMU.

Tuddenham, a defender, was selected in the final round by the Baltimore Blast. He was a three-year starter for the Dukes who scored four goals last season. He was an All-Colonial Athletic Association first team and all-state second team selection in 2005.

Trapp and Tuddenham were two of seven CAA players who were drafted Thursday. Towson's Sebastian Haensel (defender) and Nigel Marples (forward) were both drafted in the second round by New Jersey and Philadelphia respectively. Hofstra midfielder Michael Todd, Old Dominion midfielder Jared Kent, and Hofstra defender Gary Flood will all join Tuddenham at the Blast. They were drafted in the second, third, and fourth rounds, respectively.
