HOT SPRINGS, Va., April 24, 2007 ? The James Madison men's golf team finished ninth out of 11 schools at the CAA Championships over the weekend. The Dukes scored a 309-300-310--919 on the par-70, 6,679 yard course.
Fielding Brewbaker (Salem, Va./Salem) led the Dukes with a 76-71-76--223, followed by Tim Driver (Harrisonburg, Va./Spotswood) who carded an 80-74-78--232.
Michael Chupka (Midlothian, Va./Clover Hill) scored an 80-78-76--234 while Joe Scheffres (Rockville, Md./Landon Prep) finished with a 73-77-86--236. Reagan McNeer (Midlothian, Va./James River) rounded out the Dukes with an 83-87-80---250.
Old Dominion captured the 2007 CAA title with a score of 295-281-283--859 followed by Georgia State with a 292-290-281--863 and Virginia Commonwealth in third after carding a 294-287-291--872.
The Monarchs had four of their five players finish in the top ten with John Murphy placing first with a score of 69-69-72--210 to finish even on the weekend.
The men conclude their season at the Virginia Invitational in Charlottesville, Va. on April 28-29.
