HARRISONBURG, Va., Sept. 23, 2007 -- Senior Annie Lowry (Butler, Pa./Butler) scored the game-winner for the second consecutive match as James Madison (7-1-0) shut out Navy (4-3-2) 2-0 in women's soccer Sunday afternoon at the JMU Soccer Complex.
After a scoreless first half, Lowry got the Dukes on the scoreboard 10:28 into the second period. She started the play with a pass to the left flank to freshman Cate Tisinger (Clifton, Va./Centreville). Tisinger dribbled toward the goal, drawing Navy junior goalkeeper Lizzie Barnes (New Orleans, La./Ben Franklin) toward her. She then delivered the ball to the middle of the box to Lowry, who hit a five-yard shot into the right corner of the goal.
JMU's second goal was scored by sophomore Jess Remmes (Grand Island, N.Y./Grand Island) in the 79th minute. Freshman Teresa Rynier>
