WASHINGTON, D.C., Sept. 27, 2007 ? Emile Innocent scored with 1:29 left in overtime to give Howard a 3-2 come-from-behind win over James Madison in men's soccer Thursday afternoon.
Howard got its first victory of the year and now has a 1-3-3 record. JMU, which played an overtime match for the fifth consecutive game, dropped to 1-4-3.
Lamar Hyde, who finished the game with two goals and an assist, was credited with an assist on Innocent's game-winner.
The Dukes led 2-0 at halftime after getting unassisted goals from freshman Stefan Durr (Garmisch, Germany/Munich International) just 5:59 into the match and from junior Kyle Morsink (San Jose, Costa Rica/Lincoln) at the 27:23 mark.
The 2-0 lead held up until just under 20 minutes to play in regulation. Hyde scored twice for Howard in a span of only 1:07 to tie the match. Hyde netted a goal off a pass from Joel Senior at 71:09, then converted a penalty kick attempt at 72:16.
