GORDONSVILLE, Va., Oct. 14, 2008 ? The James Madison University men's golf team recorded its third consecutive top-five finish, carding rounds of 292, 290 and 297 on its way to 879 and third-place finish at this week's Frank Landrey Invitational. The Dukes were third out of 14 teams and placed four golfers in the top 15 in a field of 87 participants.

Senior Fielding Brewbaker (Salem, Va./Salem) led the way for Madison as he finished tied for second with a 3-under-par, 213. Brewbaker carded a team-low round of 68 in Monday's opening-round, following that up with a 73 in the second round and a 72 in Tuesday's third round.

JMU sophomore Matt Neely (Ashland, Va./Patrick Henry) competed as individual, finishing tied for fifth. He used rounds of 72, 70 and 72 to finish at 2-under-par, four strokes off the lead. Also playing in the ranks of the individuals was freshman Mike Smith (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla./Nease) who finished tied for 15th. Smith, who was playing in just his third-career event, recorded his best finish this season, shooting rounds of 73, 76 and 72 on his way to a 221.

Junior Michael Meisenzahl (Medford, N.J./Shawnee) continued his strong season, as he finished tied for 15th to record his third top-15 finish of the season. The Medford, N.J. native carded rounds of 73, 72 and 76 on his way to finishing with a 6-over-par, 221. In two other starts this season Meisenzahl finished tied for sixth at the Sea Trail Invitational and second at the 2008 Stono Cup.

A pair of freshman followed Meisenzahl, as Chris Wellde (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) finished tied for 29th and Jack Bonifant (Silver Springs, Md./Sherwood) finished tied for 41st. Wellde opened up with an 80 in the first round, but rebounded nicely with rounds of 74 and 71 to finish at 225. Bonifant carded rounds of 76,
