HARRISONBURG, Va., Sept. 21, 2008 ? Five James Madison players scored as the Dukes beat Bryant 5-0 in men's soccer Sunday afternoon at the JMU Soccer Complex.
JMU got its first shutout of the season and extended its unbeaten streak to five games (3-0-2).The Dukes' record is now 3-2-2, while Bryant has a 1-6-1 record.
Junior Joel Senior (Washington, D.C./Archbishop Carroll) got the Dukes on the scoreboard in the seventh minute on JMU's first shot of the day.Freshman Jason Gannon (Vienna, Va./Flint Hill) took a throw-in from senior Nick Zimmerman (Tampa Bay, Fla./Wharton) near midfield.He lofted a ball into the box, where Senior knocked a four-yard shot into the goal at the 6:35 mark.
JMU's next goal came in the 19th minute on a header by junior Billy Swetra (Egg HarborCity, N.J./Absegami).
