WOMEN'S SOCCER DROPS 2-0 DECISION AT PENN STATE

STATE COLLEGE, Pa., Sept. 20, 2009 -- Penn State scored once in each half en route to a 2-0 women's soccer win over visiting James Madison Sunday afternoon at Jeffrey Field.
Both teams now have 4-4-0 records.
Emma Thomson scored off a free kick just outside the penalty box 11:20 into the match. Christine Naim was credited with an assist on the goal.
Naim netted the second goal on a 20-yard shot 2:12 into the second period.
Penn State held a 25-9 advantage on shots. JMU redshirt junior goalkeeper Diane Wszalek (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) tied her season high with nine saves. Nittany Lion goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher stopped four shots in recording the shutout.
