BETHLEHEM, Pa., Dec. 30, 2011 -- Four Dukes scored in double figures as James Madison easily beat Rhode Island 77-42 in women's basketball Friday night at Lehigh's Stabler Arena.
The Dukes improved their record to 8-3, while Rhode Island dropped to 1-13 with its 11th straight defeat.
The game was part of the Lehigh Christmas City Classic.
The Rams' top scorers were sophomore forward Emilie Cloutier with 15 and junior guard Ashley Rivera with 12.

First Half * JMU's Jasmine Gill scored the game's first six points and the Dukes never trailed * Leading 12-10 at 12:48, the Dukes outscored URI 22-4 from 12:40 to 3:33 to build a 34-14 advantage... six JMU players scored during the run, including seven by TarikHislop and six by Lauren Whitehurst * URI committed 12 turnovers, shot only 28 percent (7-25) from the field and was outrebounded 21-15
Second Half * JMU opened the second half by outscoring Rhode Island 20-4 over the first 4:41 to lead by 30, 50-20, at 15:19 * The Dukes' largest lead was 37 (75-38 at 1:46) And More * The 42 points allowed by the Dukes marked the lowest point total by a JMU opponent this season and the lowest opponent point total since JMU held George Mason to 40 points in a 53-40 home win on Feb. 13, 2011.
