Charleston, S.C., March 7, 2012 - The James Madison men's tennis team defeated The Citadel 7-0 Wednesday in Charleston, S.C. The Dukes improved to 4-4 overall while the Bulldogs fell to 4-5.

In doubles play the Dukes' Greg Vladimirsky (Coral Springs, Fla./Broward Virtual) and Bertrand Moulin (Lyon, France/Aux Lazaristes Minimes/Wayne State) took down David Orces and Peter Bleach 8-6. Ryan Pool (Melbourne, Australia/Braemar/UT-Chattanooga) and Florent Sentenac (Borderes, France/Lycee Theophile Gautier/Auburn Montgomery) defeated The Citadel's Dillon Berkabile and James Atkinson 8-4 in No. 2 doubles and Jovan Milic (Belgrade, Serbia/Belgrade Sports School) and Bastien Russo (Lyon, France/Notre Dame des Minimes/Shorter) completed the doubles sweep, taking down Elliott Sperr and Alex Howe in No.3 doubles, 8-4

The trend continued in singles play with JMU winning all but one match in straight sets. Vladimirsky led off, taking down the Bulldogs' Josh Cook 6-2, 6-2. Pool followed in No.2 singles, beating Bleach in the match's only three-setter 6-7, 6-2, 1-0. The singles victory was Pool's sixth of the season.

In No. 3 singles, Sentenac dropped Berkabile 6-4, 6-0 to clinch the match for JMU.

Rounding out the match in No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 singles, respectively, Moulin defeated Atkinson 6-1, 6-2, Hugo Ramadier (Rome, Italy/Lycee Francais Chateabriand/ Northern Arizona) downed Sperr 6-4, 6-2 and Nissinen finished the match with a clean-sweep of Howle 6-0, 6-0.

Madison completes its tour of South Carolina on Saturday, March 10 with a trip to Conway and a match against Coastal Carolina. CCU is on a six-match win streak after defeating UNC Greensboro 5-2 on Tuesday. The Chanticleers play Temple on Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
