GREENVILLE, N.C., Feb. 9, 2014 – The James Madison men's tennis team ran into a tough opponent Sunday, falling 6-0 on the road to East Carolina at the ECU Indoor Tennis Center.
Freshman Miljan Ruzic (Sydney, Australia/St. Euphemia College) pushed his match with Mario Martinez to three sets. Ruzic dropped the first set 6-4, before winning 6-2 in the second set. Martinez clinched the match with a 6-2 victory in the final set.
JMU dropped to 2-2 with the loss, while East Carolina improved to 8-1 with its eighth straight win. The Pirates have shut out their last three opponents.
The Dukes will be off for nearly two weeks before they resume non-conference play at UMBC. The match is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22.
