NASHVILLE, Tenn. – James Madison Strength and Conditioning Head Coach Greg Werner was re-elected to the Board of Directors for the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches association (CSCCa) by his peers at the 2015 CSCCa National Conference, held in Nashville, Tennessee, from May 6-8. Werner was elected to the board in 2011 and has held the position ever since. He also serves as the Chair of the CSCCa Mentoring Symposium Board.

Werner has served as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at JMU for 22 years, working with hundreds of student athletes. He spent the 2014-15 season training the JMU men's and women's basketball and field hockey teams. A 1991 graduate of Austin Peay State University, Werner was the strength and conditioning specialist for the U.S. national field hockey team in 1999.

A distinguished coach, Werner has earned multiple professional honors. In 2005, he received the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA)'s highest recognition, the Coach Practitioner distinction, and received the CSCCa's highest professional honor, Master Strength and Conditioning Coach, in 2006. On three separate occasions (1999, 2006 and 2007) Werner has been one of three finalists for the NSCA Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Professional of the Year award.

The CSCCa was established in May 2000 and is dedicated to meeting the unique needs and challenges of the collegiate strength and conditioning coach.
