BOSTON – James Madison (10-7, 2-2 CAA) recorded double-digit blocks for the second consecutive match, but Northeastern (13-5, 3-1 CAA) topped the Dukes, 3-1 (25-27, 25-21, 22-25, 22-25), Sunday evening at the Cabot Center.
For the eighth time this season, James Madison recorded double-digit blocks with 11 total, out-blocking the Huskies 11 to 9. Sophomore middle blocker
Taylor Gail led the Dukes at the net with five total blocks, bringing her season total to 59.0.

Janey Goodman tallied a season-high 23 kills on 36 swings for a .556 hitting percentage. Senior outside hitter
Kate Whitmire added a season-high nine kills, while sophomore outside hitter
Bryn Recker chipped in eight kills, six service aces, three blocks and 10 digs.

After a back-and-forth battle through the opening points, James Madison jumped out to a 9-6 lead with help of a Recker ace and kill from freshman outside hitter
Briley Brind'Amour. James Madison pushed its lead to 12-9, but the Huskies used a 4-1 run to lock the opening set up a 15-all. The Dukes fought off two set points before NU capitalized on a Duke error to win set one, 27-25.
James Madison jumped out to a 10-6 lead early in the second set with two aces from Recker and a Whitmire kill. Northeastern battled back within two, 22-20, late, but the Dukes pulled back ahead, using an ace from Brind'Amour to win the set, 25-21, and even the match.
The Dukes led for the majority of the third set, before Northeastern took a 17-16 lead off back-to-back kills form Shaina White. The Dukes evened the set back up at 21-all after a kill from Brind'Amour, but Northeastern benefited from JMU errors to win 25-22. After trading points early in set four, Northeastern used a 5-0 run to take a 16-13 lead over the Dukes that the Huskies never relinquished, winning the set, 25-22, to take a 3-1 triumph over James Madison.
