HARRISONBURG, Va. – Topping the Tigers for its eighth consecutive victory, James Madison volleyball earned a five-set, Senior Night triumph (22-25, 25-23, 23-25, 25-19, 15-9) over Towson Saturday evening inside Sinclair Gym as the Dukes clinched at least a share of the Colonial Athletic Association regular-season title.
Going undefeated in the second half of the conference season, JMU improved to 19-10 overall with an 11-5 record in league action. The Dukes sit on top of the conference standings with a one-game lead. Charleston and Northeastern, both 10-5 in the CAA, close their regular seasons tomorrow and can tie JMU at the top spot with victories. Towson fell to 23-8 overall and 10-6 in conference play.

Kelly Vahos fell one kill away from her career high with 11 while tallying a career-best five blocks.
For the second consecutive match, setters
Sarah Martin and
Tilbe Yaglioglu each recorded double-doubles. Martin dished out 22 assists with 12 digs, while Yaglioglu recorded 30 helpers with 15 digs to guide JMU to a .287 hitting percentage.

Taylor Austin closed the regular season with another dominate performance as the junior raked up 23 digs.
JMU and Towson were locked in a back-and-forth opening set that feature 10 ties. With the set locked at 15-all, Jocelyn Kuilan and Lindsay Flaherty landed back-to-back kills to give Towson a lead. JMU used a 3-0 run late to pull back within two, 23-21, and fought off a set point before Flaherty tallied her third kill of the set to give Towson a 25-22 victory.
Trailing by as much as much as seven in the second stanza, JMU mounted an impressive comeback that featured a 6-2 run to put JMU ahead, 16-15. The squads traded points late before a 4-0 run by JMU that ended with a service ace from senior
Kelly Robertson capped a 25-23 victory to even the match.
The Dukes fell in a close third set, 25-23, before roaring back in the fourth set with help of a 6-1 run to win 25-19 and force a decisive fifth set. In the final stanza, JMU trailed 8-6 before the Dukes racked up four consecutive kills to begin a 9-1 run to win 15-9 and earn the Senior Night triumph.

This team is so incredibly special because of the way they play together and our seniors and their leadership. It showed tonight, because when it mattered, we were able to execute and find a way for our seniors. I cannot put into words what our seniors mean to this program. We've got one more weekend, and we are going to play hard for them."

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT
Spending much of her senior campaign on the sideline due to injury, middle blocker
Hanna Radhi earned the start in Saturday's Senior Night match and made an immediate impact in the opening stanza. The Gainesville, Va. native tallied three huge block assists and landed a kill in her lone attack attempt of the night to rack up 2.5 points for the Dukes.

FOUR MORE KILLS
Senior
Janey Goodman became just the second Duke in program history to record 500 or more kills in a single season as the right side hitter closed the regular season with 503 kills. The Powhatan, Va. native sit just four kills away from setting a new single-season record, taking down
Lindsay Collingwood's 506 kills set back in 1996.

Pat Sargeant (1976-1980) as the second winningest coach in JMU program history.

James Madison will travel to Wilmington, N.C. for the 2016 CAA Championships hosted by UNCW on Nov. 18-20. Clinching at least a share of the regular-season title and holding a tie-breaker advantage, the Dukes will be seeded no lower than second place, earning a bye into Saturday's semifinals and will await Friday's quarterfinal action to determine their opponent.
