In case you didn't already have enough reasons to come to this Friday's game against Weber State, here are another 10 why you NEED to be at Bridgeforth.
Road to Frisco Goes Through Bridgeforth. Being the No. 1 seed for the 2017 NCAA FCS playoffs has its perks. After going undefeated in the regular season and ranking first in both polls, JMU will host every game until the national championship. The Dukes have 15-straight wins at home.
24-Straight Wins. Yes, you read that correctly. JMU holds the longest active winning streak in Division I with 24-straight wins. This football program has not lost a game since facing FBS opponent UNC on September 17, 2016. We had a different President then.
ESPN. College GameDay first came to Harrisonburg in 2015 and returned this year on October 14th for the Villanova game. ESPN is now coming back to broadcast your Dukes in primetime. I think we are becoming great friends.
Defense. The Dukes lead the FCS in scoring defense (8.8), interceptions (24) and pass efficiency defense (78.96 rating). They had 5 interceptions in the game against Stony Brook…that's insane.
Bryan Schor. Schor is the all-time leader in career passing touchdowns (59) and completions (506) after his performance on Saturday. He's chasing records and not slowing down.
Crowd. The 16,449 fans last week were loud on third downs, but we need it to be louder. The first 3,500 students get a special edition rally towel. Not a student? We got you covered. The first 5,000 fans will get a "Beat Weber State" sign.
Andrew Ankrah. Ankrah was named the CAA Defensive Player of the Year and is one of three finalists for the 2017 STATS FCS Buck Buchanan Award, recognizing the nation's top defensive player. He sacks, forces fumbles and recovers them for touchdowns. What can't he do?
JMU Squirrel. Whether you were at the game or scrolling social media, you've seen the squirrel. He's been practicing around the stadium this week. Come see streamers fly as he scores another touchdown.
Pre-Finals Study Break. It's about to be a crazy week full of studying, which means you deserve to treat yourself. Take a study break, make a sign for the game and show ESPN what you came up with on Friday night. Did I mention there is going to be free hot chocolate for all students?
Friday Night Lights. Friday night football doesn't happen very often, nor are we broadcasted on national television! Join us for kickoff at 7 p.m. and dress warm. It will be cold, dark and perfect.
