Dukes Shut Out Niagara, 3-0

HARRISONBURG, Va. – Behind the third shutout of the season, the James Madison men's soccer team defeated Niagara, 3-0 on Friday at Sentara Park. With the win, the Dukes improve to 3-2-1 while Niagara falls to 1-6 on the season.

14' | Sophomore Ben Dao scored his team-leading third goal of the season of an inside-the-box pass from graduate student Yannick Franz
48' | Sophomore Niclas Mohr doubled the score as Mohr settled a deflection and placed the ball into the back of the net
80' | Franz scored his first career goal off a one-touch pass from redshirt junior Billy Metzler which Franz kicked to the bottom left of the goal

The Dukes did not allow a shot until 85th-minute as the Dukes outshot the Purple Eagles, 13 to one, with eleven shots on goal. 10 JMU players took a shot in the contest. James Madison received seven corner kicks while Niagara took two. Junior Sean Connolly received the start in the goal on Saturday and finished with a clean slate with only one save to improve to 1-0 on the season.

The Dukes will travel to Radford, Va. on Sept. 20 for their first midweek tilt of the season to face off against Radford at 7 p.m.
