HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison used a 16-0 run to begin the game, leading wire-to-wire in a 72-43 Colonial Athletic Association women's basketball victory over Northeastern on Friday night at the Convocation Center. Â

The Dukes' (15-8, 11-1 CAA) defense did not allow a made field goal until 1:54 remaining in the first period and limited the Huskies (12-5, 7-5 CAA) to 21.0 percent (13-of-62) shooting on the night.

Sophomore Kamiah Smallsled all scorers with 17 points, alongside three rebounds, four assists, three steals and a block. Sophomore Kelly Koshutaadded 14 points with seven rebounds, a block and a steal while sophomore Lexie Barriertallied 12 points and grabbed three boards.

JMU shot 52 percent (26-of-50) from the field, which led to a season-best 31 percent field-goal margin against its opponent. JMU's 22-point first quarter matched its season high for points in an opening stanza.
 DROPPING DIMES
Junior Logan Reynolds dished out seven assists, tying her career high, and it marked the fourth time this season that she has accomplished this feat.
 ON THE BOARDS
JMU outrebounded Northeastern 41-33, marking the tenth time in CAA play the Dukes have won the battle of the boards.
 BLOCK CITY
The Dukes tallied seven blocks on the night, led by two blocks from sophomore Kayla Cooper-Williams. She has 44 on the season (13th all-time) and 115 for her career, which ranked tied for sixth all-time with Lauren Whitehurst ('12). Â
 FOR CONSISTENCY'S SAKE
Senior Hailee Barronappeared in the 124th consecutive game of her career, which moves her into a tie for third in program history for consecutive games played. An appearance in Sunday's game would move her into sole possession of third.

The Dukes will travel to Towson, Md., to face off against Towson on Sunday at 2 p.m. On Friday night, the Tigers made two late free throws with 10 seconds remaining and blocked Hofstra's last-second layup attempt to pull out a 73-72 win and improve to 9-14 (4-8 CAA) on the season.
