HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison men's tennis edged Drexel for a 4-3 Colonial Athletic Association victory on Friday afternoon at the Hillside Courts
JMU improved its record to 15-6 overall and 4-3 in the CAA while Drexel fell to 12-6 and 1-1. The match marked the Dukes' final conference outing prior to next week's CAA Men's Tennis Championship.
Freshman
Alvaro Arce and junior
Pierre Kohler began doubles action with a 6-2 triumph over Drexel's Balaji Lakshmanan and Sanil Jagtiani at No.2. JMU earned the doubles point with a 6-4 win at No. 3 from freshman
Gonzalo Adis and sophomore
Damon Roberts. At No. 1 singles, senior
Theophile Lanthiez and sophomore
Paul Mendoza completed the sweep with a 6-2 triumph.
Holding a 1-0 lead, Arce tacked on another point for JMU with a 6-3, 6-2 at No. 2 over Drexel's Lakshmanan. Drexel won the next two points to even the score at 2-2 with wins at No.1 and No. 4.
Adis put the Dukes ahead, 3-2, with a 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 win at No. 6 singles over Yousfef Lahlou. JMU secured the match with a comeback victory from Kohler at No. 5, defeating Bernard Tefel 2-6, 7-5, 6-4.

"All three doubles teams clicked and took care of business early, which gave us a good start. It's tough because you're battling your opponent and you're battling yourself, but you have to fight through it. Tomorrow will be tough, we're going to come out and fight in our last match before the conference tournament."

The Dukes will face Villanova in their final match of the regular season tomorrow, April 14, at 3 p.m. at the Hillside Courts. Prior to the match, JMU's lone senior, Lanthiez, will be honored for Senior Day, which begins at 1:30 p.m.
