HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison softball head coach Loren LaPorte has announced the dates for the 2018 Loren LaPorte Softball Camps. The three camps will take place at Veterans Memorial Softball Park.

DATES
- June Summer Camp: June 19-21
- Elite Summer Camp: July 17-18
- Little Dukes Softball Camp: July 19
- Pitching and Catching Camp: July 31
TIMES
- The June Summer Camp, Elite Summer Camp and Little Dukes Softball Camp will take place 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Â
- The Pitching and Catching Camp will take place 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.Â
DESCRIPTIONS
- June Summer Camp will be a three-day, overnight camp, with the option of day-only, for ages 10-18. The camp will teach all aspects of the game and include instruction in strength and conditioning.
- Elite Summer Camp will be open for ages 13-18, targeting high level athletes looking to compete at the Division I level. This camp will cover all aspects of the game, as well as provide instruction in strength and conditioning, taking place over two days.
- Little Dukes Softball Camp will teach the fundamentals of the game and help improve skills through drills and playing skill specific games for kids aged 6-12.
- Pitching and Catching Camp will specifically teach pitching and catching skills to children aged 13-18.Â
INSTRUCTORS
- Instruction will be given by the JMU coaching staff, assisted by Dukes student-athletes.
EQUIPMENT
- Each camper must bring their own bat, glove, helmet, catcher's equipment, cleats, tennis shoes and sun screen.
LOCATION
- Veterans Memorial Softball Park located at 395 South High Street in Harrisonburg.
- For the June Summer Camp, the overnight accommodations will take place in Gifford Hall (20 Bluestone Drive).
