HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison Athletics has announced alterations to the gameday experience, which will impact fans visiting Bridgeforth Stadium this fall. The updates will provide a new location for the University Outpost Fan Zone and the Duke Club hospitality as well as enhancements to gameday parking.
 University Outpost Fan Zone
With the upgrade of the newly-paved F Lot outside of Bridgeforth Stadium, the University Outpost Fan Zone is now located on the south side of the Godwin Hall patio in the location formerly utilized for the Duke Club hospitality tent. Here fans can find their favorite activities, from inflatable games, the bounce house, JMU stickers and temporary tattoos, Puppy Pound registration and pick up and, new this year, a photo booth with Duke VI, presented by Ashby Animal Clinic.  The Fan Zone will open 2 hours and 30 minutes before game time right after the JMU football program completes the Dog Walk to the Athletic Performance Center. Join JMU Cheerleaders, the Duke Dog and Athletics' corporate partners to enjoy pregame festivities in the new location of the University Outpost Fan Zone.  The grassy area at Champions Drive and F Lot will include  a variety of gameday programming during the season, for more information on game-by-game promotions, please visit: www.jmusports.com/promotions.
 Duke Club Pregame Hospitality
In light of the changes detailed above, the JMU Duke Club has changed the location of the Duke Club hospitality tent for 2018. The hospitality area is moving to the opposite side of the Godwin patio, closest to the JMU Bookstore. This relocation provides more space to accommodate the growing number of guests who access the hospitality area and allows for the new location of the Fan Zone. The entrance to the new area is on the east side of Godwin Hall, adjacent to G Lot and is accessible from the former entrance.

Addition of the New F Lot
During the summer of 2018, JMU created a 164-spot parking lot on a portion of Godwin Field to address a variety of campus parking needs. This lot provides an improved gameday experience for fans offering more room for tailgating and eliminating the need to relocate parking during inclement weather. Green space has been preserved on Godwin Field for fan activities and general area for recreating. Group functions such as Family Weekend and Homecoming programming will be moved to Hanson Field, which will also host various special groups, corporate tailgates, letterwinner reunions and similar.
 Student Parking and Tailgating
A designated JMU student parking and tailgating area will be located in the R1 Lot, adjacent to D-Hub and Long Mauck Stadium. Recent construction on campus has impacted many parking lots and the previous location for student parking and tailgating no longer exists (formerly Convo F lot). To provide a safe and manageable parking and tailgate area for students, JMU Administration has determined that R1 Lot is the best option due to its proximity to the stadium and student housing while being away from heavy traffic areas.Â
Â
Vehicles will not be allowed access into the R1 Lot beginning at 8 p.m. on Friday and all remaining vehicles must be cleared by 6 a.m. on Saturday. Beginning at 6 a.m., any vehicle remaining in the lot will be ticketed and towed. This lot will become available starting 4 hours before game time and will be cleared 30 minutes before kickoff. To access the lot, the driver must present a valid JACard and game ticket and all passengers must also present a game ticket for entry. Any individual entering the R1 Lot on game day must present a football game ticket to gain access at one of the lot entry points. A direct communication will be sent to ticket holders who were previously issued parking passes in the R1 Lot and will now be impacted by this change and relocated to another reserved parking lot.
