Weather Moves JMU Football vs. Robert Morris to Thursday 7 p.m., Other Athletics Impacts

James Madison's football home opener vs. Robert Morris, originally scheduled for Saturday, has been moved to Thursday, Sept. 13 at 7 p.m. due to weekend weather concerns related to Hurricane Florence.

Tickets and Parking

All tickets to the Robert Morris football game will be valid for the new date and time.
 
Ticket purchasers who do not use their ticket(s) for the game will receive a credit on their account equal to the value of the ticket(s) that can be used towards a future home football game (including playoffs) or 2019 football season tickets. Details on how to redeem this credit will be shared directly with ticket purchasers the week of September 17.

Season ticket holders who park in the Champions Drive Deck, D Lot, F Lot, G Lot and P Lot will have access to park on a first-come basis in either Champions Drive Deck, F Lot or G Lot starting at 5 p.m. on Thursday. Specific assigned spots will not be guaranteed as these lots are being combined into a smaller footprint to accommodate this change.

All other lots including Convo, D2, and C4 will be treated as general parking on a first-come basis starting at 5 p.m. on Thursday.

 
Broadcast

With the date change, the TV broadcast will still happen but will move from NBC Sports Washington Plus to the primary NBC Sports Washington channel. The game will also be available on MadiZONE HD SportsNet presented by the JMU Alumni Association.

Student Tickets & Parking - Updates & Reminders

Tickets
All tickets to the Robert Morris football game will be valid for the new date and time.

Students who purchased a guest ticket(s) for the game and do not use them will receive a credit on their account equal to the value of the ticket(s) that can be used towards a future home football game (including playoffs).

Parking
The planned student tailgate in R1 Lot will not be available for this game. For those students who will need to be on campus after 4:00 p.m. or plan to attend the game, the following lots are recommended for alternate parking, according to permit type:

  • R1 Lot (the "baseball lot" adjacent to D-Hub and the Village) 
  • R2 Lot (across from the JMU entrance on Port Republic Road, behind the Madison Square shopping center)
  • R10/R11 Lots (on Port Republic Road across from the University Outpost) 
  • Grace Street Parking Deck levels 2 – 7 (adjacent to Student Success Center) 
  • Warsaw Avenue Parking Deck levels 3 – 5 (adjacent to Forbes Center) 
  • Chesapeake Avenue Parking Deck (on Grace Street across from the Studio Center)

Ticket Return Policy
Students who are unable to make it to the game on Thursday will need to return their ticket via their online account. If you reserve a ticket for more than two games and do not show up, you may lose access to reserve tickets for future events, including playoffs.
