#7 Penn State Defeats JMU

Penn State (8-3) was able to control the ball throughout the game taking 29 shots compared to the Dukes (3-6) five. The Nittany Lions took 11 corners, but JMU defense remained strong and only scored directly off of one corner, two other goals were scored on rebounds following a saved corner.

GAME NOTES
- Caitlin Nelson stopped 9 shots for her fourth straight game this season with 9 or more saves. Her career best is 13 which she set at #4 Duke
- Yeager tallied her second goal and has now scored in back-to-back games
- Marina Rupinski scored the first goal of her career
- Emilly Schutt tallied her first collegiate assist with her dish to Rupinski
- Mayer ended the week with six points (five of those points came on Friday). She now has an assist in back-to-back games
- The Dukes did not allow a Penn State goalie to make a save. Their two shots on goal both became goals. This was the second time this season the Nittany Lions goalkeepers did not tally a save, but it was the first game with a shot on goal by the opponent.
WHAT THEY'RE SAYING
Coach Morgan: "We played a great team today! We're just not there yet but that's an example of where we want to be and that's why we play these top-5 and top-10 teams, to learn and get the lessons this year. There were a few extraordinary moments in the game so we will focus and feed off of that!"
