HARRISONBURG, Va. -Â As part of the early signing period, the James Madison men's golf team has signed two newcomers to National Letters of Intent to join the Dukes for the 2020-21 season, as announced by Head Coach
Jeff Forbes on Friday morning.

Sigurður Blumenstein of Iceland and Alexandre D'Aurelle de Paladines of France have both committed to join JMU next fall to open next year.

"We're excited to have Siggi and Alex joining the program next fall," Forbes said. "Both guys have been playing at an elite level and have represented their respective countries in major events. We expect them to come in and help continue the success of JMU Golf."

Sigurður Blumenstein
5-9 | Reykjavik, Iceland | Commercial College of Iceland
"Siggi" Blumenstein joins the Dukes from Reykjavik, where he is the second-ranked junior player in Iceland as of November 2019. He has been a member of the Icelandic National Team for six years, leading the team at the 2018 European Boys Championship and finishing ninth in the individual stroke play portion of the event. Blumenstein has also already racked up four wins on the Icelandic Junior Tour.

Alexandre D'Aurelle de Paladines
5-9 | Paris, France | Ecole Diagonale
Alex comes to Harrisonburg from Paris, where he has turned himself into the sixth-ranked player at the U17 level in all of France, while climbing to No. 80 across all French players. He has been selected to the French National Team on several occasions and has a number of individual victories to his name, including the Men's Grand Prix de Bussy, where he fired a course record of 62 (-10).

Having concluded the fall portion of their schedule, the Dukes will resume their 2019-20 campaign on Feb. 14-16, 2020, when they travel to Martin Downs Golf Club in Palm City, Fla. to take part in the UNCG Martin Downs Collegiate.
