COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – USA Volleyball has announced its 28-player U.S. Women's Collegiate National Team – Anaheim roster and James Madison volleyball's
M'Kaela White has earned a position on the team, as announced by USA Volleyball on Monday afternoon.

"Getting the opportunity to wear USA on my back is a huge honor," said White. "There have been many that have come before me and many that will come after me, but I am so honored to be able to represent JMU while playing with some of the best in the country."

White was one of eight middles blockers selected for the squad. The Maryland native led the Dukes in 2018 with 172 blocks. She had 17 matches with double-digit kills and three matches with double-digit blocks.

"M'Kaela has worked very hard to put herself in this position to be able to compete in a USA jersey," Head Coach
Lauren Steinbrecher said. "What's most exciting is that she's just starting to reach her potential! I could not be prouder of her and I am thrilled that she will be able to represent JMU this summer."

After a stellar 2018 campaign, White received multiple accolades: American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-American, AVCA East Coast All-Region Team, VaSID Player of the Year, First Team VaSID, CAA All-Tournament Team and First Team All-CAA.

The team will train June 23-29 at the American Sports Centers in Anaheim which is the official host city for the U.S. women's and men's national teams. There will be a scrimmage held on June 28 that is open for the public. A site and time will be announced at a later time.

White and the 27 other student-athletes were selected through open tryouts held March 1-3 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.
