Kayla Cooper-Williams of James Madison women's basketball has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 3 First Team as announced by CoSIDA on Thursday.Â

The 2019-20 Academic All-District Women's Basketball Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.Â
Â
Cooper-Williams is currently obtaining a master's of science in sport and recreation leadership with a 4.00 grade-point average. Her 4.00gpa leads all honorees in District 3.Â

On the court, the fifth-year senior sits second in the Colonial Athletic Association in rebounds per game with 9.5 and leads the conference in blocks per game averaging 3.3, sixth-most in Division I.Â

First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team (if applicable) Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in mid-March.
