BROCKPORT, N.Y.- The National Field Hockey Coaches Association announced the members of the 2021 NFHCA Division I All-Regional teams and named Eveline Zwager to the South Region First Team and Diede Remijnse to the South Region Second Team, the organization announced Monday.
Â
This is the second year in a row two Dukes have received All-Region honors in the season, with Zwager and Caroline Cahill earning First Team honors last year. Other than 2018, there has been at least one JMU student-athlete named to one of the All-Region teams every year since head coach Christy Morgan returned to the helm in 2014.
Â
Zwager has continued to bring in accolades after an impressive season that saw her earn conference Player of the Year title and All-Conference First Team honors. She earned these awards after she led the conference in goals (16) with an average of .84 goals per game and points (38), averaging 2.00 points per game. Nationally, she ranks eighth in goals per game and seventh in points per game.
Â
Remijnse was also named to the All-Conference First Team after leading the conference in game-winning goals (5) and third in goals per game (.58) with 11 total goals this season. This was her first season earning points, for a total of 23 points on the season.
Â
The NFHCA divides Division I teams into five regions: Mid-Atlantic, Mideast, Northeast, South and west – with each region honoring up to 16 student-athletes on first team and up to 16 student-athletes on a second team.
