HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison football had four players earn All-America accolades from the Associated Press in Ethan Ratke, Bryce Carter, Cole Johnsonand Greg Ross, the organization announced this week.

Ratke was selected as a First Team All-American, Carter was picked to the Second Team pick and both Johnson and Ross were tabbed to the Third Team.

It's the second All-America honor for Ratke, Johnson and Ross, who all earned All-America nods from HERO Sports, and the first career laurel for Carter.

Ratke is 29-of-32 on field goal attempts and 61-of-62 on extra points for 148 points. He's reset the JMU and CAA single-season field goals record and tied the FCS mark. Ratke leads the country in field goals per game (2.23) and scoring (11.4) while ranking fourth in field-goal percentage (.906). He's also the NCAA's all-time leader in field goals (101) and scoring by a kicker (540).

Carter is one of the program's top pass rushers, tallying 47 total tackles with 19.0 for loss. He is second for the Dukes with 8.0 sacks and also has three forced fumbles, one recovery and seven quarterback hurries. He ranks second in the league and 13th nationally in tackles for loss per game (1.5). Carter has six games with 2.0+ tackles for loss and registered at least a full sack in six outings.

Johnson is 262-of-388 for 39 touchdowns with just two interceptions this season. He also has 225 rushing yards and six scores on the ground for 45 total scores. Johnson, who set the JMU single-season records for passing yards and passing touchdowns, leads the country in pass-efficiency rating (176.9), while ranking second in yards per pass attempt (9.2), fourth in both passing touchdowns (39) and completion percentage (.675) and sixth in point responsibility (20.2).

Ross is tied for the JMU lead with four interceptions this season. He also paces team in with 12 pass breakups and 16 passes defended. That included a career-high three breakups in the FCS quarterfinals. This season, Ross has tallied 30 total tackles.
