HARRISONBURG, Va. – Following a week split, which included a 23-goal game and another matchup against the top-ranked team, James Madison moved up two spots to #22 in this week's IWLCA Division I Coaches Poll, the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association announced on Monday.

This week's ranking is two better than a week ago, as JMU was 24th in the March 15 poll.

JMU (4-2) rolled to a 23-7 victory last Tuesday against George Washington before dropping a 15-5 decision Sunday at #1 North Carolina. The 23-goal performance was tied for the most goals by JMU in a Division I game.

Isabella Peterson led the Dukes in scoring for the week, tallying five goals and three assists.
Kacey Knobloch matched Peterson in goals, as she contributed five goals with a pair of helpers. Peterson also won a team-best five draw controls in the split.

In goal,
Molly Dougherty made 19 saves for the Dukes with a .463 save percentage. That included a 13-save outing against the #1 Tar Heels.

North Carolina (9-0) received 24-first place votes to maintain its top spot after turning in a pair of top-25 wins. Following in the top five were #2 Syracuse (5-0), #3 Northwestern (7-0), #4 Boston College (5-1) and #5 Notre Dame (4-2).

The Dukes were one of four Colonial Athletic Association programs to be ranked this week, as Towson (6-2) was 14th, Drexel (6-1) rose to 20th and Elon (5-0) jumped to 23rd.

Additionally, JMU is receiving votes again this week in the Inside Lacrosse Media Division I Top 20.

#22 JMU is back home on Friday, March 26 when it hosts #8 Virginia. The game is set for a 5 p.m. start at Sentara Park and will be streamed on Lax Sports Network.
