NORFOLK, Va. – Sophomore
Kiki Jefferson of James Madison women's basketball has been named to the Virginia Association of Sports Information Directors All-State First Team as announced by the organization on Thursday.
Â
The All-Colonial Athletic Association First Team selection earns her first all-state honors of her young career. The women's basketball program has posted at least one player on the VaSID All-State First Team every season since 2014.
Â
Over the crazy 2020-21 regular season Jefferson led the Dukes in scoring (15.2 points per game, eighth in CAA), rebounding (7.9 rebounds per game, sixth in CAA) and minutes (29.2 minutes per game). In conference play, she averaged 15.9 points (eighth in CAA) on 40.9% shooting, 8.8 rebounds (fourth in conference) and 1.2 steals per game.

Jefferson racked up double figures in all but three games on the season, highlighted by a career performance on the road at Towson as she put up a monster double-double with a then-career-high 29 points on 56.3% (9-of-16) shooting, including a perfect 10-of-10 from the line, while grabbing a game-high 10 rebounds.
Â
Jefferson dominance continued in the CAA Tournament as she landed on the All-Tournament team after averaging 27.0 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game on 50% shooting (17-of-34) from the field and a blistering 63% (7-of-11) from deep. After the tournament, the sophomore finished the year averaging 16.2 points and 7.8 rebounds per game.
