HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison, fresh off a pair of Colonial Athletic Association victories last week, rose four spots to #21 in the latest IWLCA Division I Coaches Poll, the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association announced on Monday.

It's the second straight week JMU has been ranked as it re-joined the national polls last week at #25.

JMU (9-4) has won four straight, which included home wins against William & Mary (21-8) and Elon (15-9) this past weekend.

Isabella Peterson led the Dukes with 11 goals and 10 draw controls, scoring five goals with five draws against the Tribe before tying her career high with six goals and five draws versus the Phoenix.

Katie Checkosky had two goals and a team-best eight assists, and Lizzy Fox scored five goals. Emma Johnson tied the JMU career record for caused turnovers, as she tallied six for the week, while Mairead Durkin added five caused turnovers.

JMU shot .522 for the week while limiting W&M and Elon to a combined .386 shooting percentage. The Dukes also led their opponents in draws (38-19), caused turnovers (20-12) and ground balls (33-25).

North Carolina (15-0) corralled all 25 first-place votes to stay atop the poll. Following UNC was #2 Northwestern (11-0), #3 Syracuse (12-2), #4 Boston College (12-2) and #5 Notre Dame (8-5).

Three CAA teams were once again ranked this week. In addition to JMU were #10 Drexel (12-1) and #25 Towson (8-6).

JMU also received votes in the Inside Lacrosse Media Division I Top 20.

#21 JMU will be back in action for the CAA Championship next month. Seedings and the full tournament schedule will be announced once all teams complete the regular season.
