RICHMOND, Va. – No. 24 James Madison softball (27-1,14-1) has swept the Colonial Athletic Association weekly awards as
Sara Jubas, Odicci Alexander and
Alissa Humphrey each collected an award, the conference announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Jubas was named CAA Player of the Weekly, her second weekly nod of the season, after recording a .643 batting averaging with nine hits, five RBIs and five runs scored to help JMU finish the week 5-0. Â
In the midweek doubleheader against Longwood, the infielder went 3-for-6 at plate firing off two solo home runs in the Dukes 6-0 win over the Lancers in game two. Against UNCW she went 6-for-8 at the plate racking up four doubles while scoring three runs and recording three RBIs.

Alexander (6-0) was named CAA Pitcher of the Week after going 3-0 in the circle. The senior struck out 35 batters in 20.0 innings while not allowing a single earned run and only giving up six hits in her three appearances.
In the midweek doubleheader at Longwood, Alexander recorded a career-high of 15 strikeouts, striking out 15 of the 24 batters she faced in 7.0 innings. She tossed her first shutout of the 2021 season, 24
th in her career.
Against UNCW, the Boydton, Va. native picked up two wins in the circle tossing 20 strikeouts in 13.0 innings only giving up four hits to the Seahawks. In the second game of the doubleheader, Alexander struck out 13 batters, her third game with double-digit strikeouts of this season.
She leads the CAA in ERA at 1.02, ranking 14
th in the nation and she is 13
th in the country for strikeouts per seven innings averaging 10.8.
Humphrey (11-0) was tabbed CAA Rookie of the Week after her strong performance in the circle. The freshman finished 2-0 with 21 strikeouts and a 2.03 ERA in 10.1 innings. She picked up her fifth shutout of the season in JMU's 1-0 win over Longwood. The Micanopy, Fla. native struck out 15 of the 23 batters she faced, setting a new career high of 15 strikeouts and recorded her sixth game of double-digit strikeouts.
The freshman leads the CAA in strikeouts (119), wins (11) and ranks third for ERA (2.13). She leads the conference in strikeouts per seven innings and ranks 11
th in the nation with 11.1.
The Dukes prepare for their final conference series of the regular season against College of Charleston on May 1-2 in Charleston, S.C.
