HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison held strong at #1 in this week's Stats Perform FCS Top 25 for the sixth consecutive week, the organization announced Monday.
The Dukes (4-0) were off last week after their game at Richmond was postponed due to CoVID protocols within the Spider program. This week's game against Elon was also postponed due to CoVID protocols within the Phoenix program.
JMU is actively pursuing to add games prior to the end of the regular season, with open dates both on April 10 and 17.
The Dukes garnered 30 of 40 first-place votes to remain in the poll's top spot. The top five were once again unchanged, as following them were #2 North Dakota State (5-1), #3 Weber State (4-0), #4 South Dakota State (4-1) and #5 Sam Houston (4-0).
All five teams received first-place votes again. In addition to JMU's 30, NDSU tallied six, SDSU had two and both Weber and Sam Houston had one apiece.
A total of five Colonial Athletic Association teams were ranked once again this week. Joining the Dukes were #8 Delaware (3-0), #11 Villanova (2-1), #12 Richmond (3-0) and #22 Rhode Island (2-1). New Hampshire and Maine also received votes.
Additionally, JMU was ranked #1 in the NCAA selection committee's top 10, which was released last Thursday.
