Men's Basketball to Host Walk-On Tryouts

HARRISONBURG, Va. - The James Madison men's basketball program will hold open tryouts this fall for students interested in joining the Dukes for the 2021-22 season. The tryouts will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 8 at 4 p.m. on the court at the Atlantic Union Bank Center.

Prior to tryouts, students must complete both the JMU Sports Medicine Evaluation Form and the JMU Athletics Tryout Form, which must be approved by both JMU Athletics Compliance and JMU Sports Medicine prior to participation in tryouts.

In order to compete on Sept. 8, students must complete the first page of the Sports Medicine Evaluation Form before having their doctor perform a physical and complete the second page. Both completed forms should be emailed to Cory Kaplan (kaplanca@jmu.edu) by Monday, Sept. 6.

Students will be required to take their own COVID-19 PCR test and submit a negative result within 72 hours prior to the start of tryouts in order to participate. They must also be currently enrolled at JMU with a minimum of 12 credit hours each semester.
