RICHMOND, Va — James Madison goalkeeper
Alexandra Blom was named the Colonial Athletic Association Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday afternoon.Â
Â
The Dukes are now 4-5-1, 1-0 CAA. It is Blom's first career CAA weekly award.Â
Â
Blom was key in JMU's 1-0 conference-opening win against Drexel. The redshirt sophomore made seven saves for the Dukes, the fourth time she has recorded seven or more saves this season. The win was her third shutout of the season, and the first time she has posted back-to-back shutouts in her career.Â
Â
With 45 saves on the season, Blom is now the current saves leader in the CAA.Â
Â
JMU has the week off before returning to the field by hosting nationally ranked Hofstra on Sunday, Oct. 3 at 1 p.m. at Sentara Park.
