Remijnse, Zwager earn VaSID All-State Honors

RICHMOND, Va. – Juniors Diede Remijnse and Eveline Zwager have been named to the 2021 Virginia Sports Information Director's All-State First Team after their performances in the 2021 season, the organization announced Monday afternoon.

This is the first year both plalyers have earned VaSID First Team honors, with Zwager having earned Second Team honors in the 2020-2021 season.

Remijnse was also named to the NFHCA South Region Second Team after leading the conference in game-winning goals (5) and third in goals per game (.58) with 11 total goals this season. This was her first season earning points, for a total of 23 points on the season.

Zwager adds this award to the number of accolades she has earned this season, including NFHCA Third Team All-American, South Region First Team and conference Player of the Year.  She earned these awards after she led the conference in goals (16) with an average of .84 goals per game and points (38), averaging 2.00 points per game. Nationally, she ranked eighth in goals per game and seventh in points per game.

VaSID names 44 all-state teams in 23 sports each year, as well as an Academic All-State squad and an all-sports champion in both the University and College Divisions.
