HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison volleyball has signed Cincinnati transfer Alexandra Kwasnik to her National Letter of Intent, head coach
Lauren Steinbrecher announced on Wednesday.
Â
"Alex was a player that we recruited heavily out of high school, so you can only imagine our excitement when we saw her name in the transfer portal," Steinbrecher said. "She is a very dynamic athlete that plays high above the net, but more importantly, she fits our program's culture perfectly. Alex's work ethic, competitiveness and drive will certainly add to our program as we look forward to competing for championships in the Sun Belt. We couldn't be more excited to welcome Alex to her new home at JMU!"
Â
The middle blocker is coming off a freshman year where she played in 39 sets for UC. She totaled 35 kills (0.90/set) on 126 attempts, while adding eight total blocks (five solo) and 15 digs on defense. She grabbed her first career kill on Aug. 27 against Dayton, and had a career-high seven on a .375 hitting percentage against crosstown rival Xavier on Sept. 16.

Kwasnik's efforts helped the Bearcats to a 19-9 record and a third place American Athletic Conference finish in 2021.
